First Grade Weekly Note December 6, 2018
Christ Light What a blessing to hear God’s Word on a daily basis at school. The disciples learned to trust Jesus when he fed the five thousand people and walked on water.
Spelling Test is tomorrow! Study!
Check the homework chart for the words.
IE This week we have been 1) doing word work with Miss Koepsell 2) listening to the book “Frosty the Snowman” and writing a response to it and 3) reading digital books on Kids A-Z.
First Grade Christmas Party and Gift Exchange We will have our party on December 21 at 10:30 AM, after the service. We will combine the first grade classes for this party. Your child should get a $5 gift to exchange. Girls buy for a girl and boys buy for a boy. Label the tag to say To: A girl From: (Jenna). Thank you! We will also play some games, do a craft and have some healthy snacks. Thanks for signing up already!
Gym We have combined the classes and we will keep it that way until Christmas. We are working on jumping rope skills and basketball dribbling skills in gym. Yesterday we partner jumped!
Social Studies/Science Half of the class is learning about different habitats with Mrs. Parsons in science. The other half of the class is learning about Christmas in different cultures with Miss Koepsell.
Advent A-Z Last week we started a new devotion book on advent. Each day we learn about a word or two that have to do with Advent. Check out our door to see our alphabet!
Last night for Adopt a Family Tonight is the last night to donate to our Adopt a Family. Each “messenger” child brought home an envelope if you would like to contribute. Some family in Fond du Lac will be especially blessed this year. Thanks!
