First Grade Weekly Note     September 20, 2018

Christ Light The devil went after Jesus in an effort to destroy our Savior and his work in our place.  I marvel at his love for us as he resisted the temptations. Your children and I also talked about how Jesus used the “sword of the Spirit,” the Word of God to attack Satan’s schemes. May will daily fill up on God’s Word to fight the temptations Satan sends our way.           

Spelling Test is Friday, September 21.

Check the homework chart for the words.

Gym and recess  ALL the kids reviewed long and short rope jumping.      

Math stations 1) Challenge work and “ten frames” with Mrs. W.  2) Moby Max math

3) Doubles Addition.   

IE The class has been doing these stations this week.  1) Reading with me 2) Listening to

“Nugget and Fang,” a story about the unlikely friendship of a shark and minnow.  3) Making homes and buildings for our city!

Grade School Cross Country Meet at WLA All the WELS grade schools have been invited to run in the K-8 meet on Wednesday, September 24.  First grade is at 5:10PM.

Singing Schedule  

October 14   First grade sings in LATE service!!!

Nov 4 Dedication service  Last name A-L 7:45, M-Z 10:30 AM

October 4 Field Trip to Bookworm Gardens in Sheboygan.  The permission slip is on the back.  

October 17 Field Trip to Appleton with second grade.  The students will ride a bus.  Parents will drive in cars. We are going to a play of “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” at the PAC.  Tickets are limited!!!
