First Grade Weekly Note December 13, 2018
Christ Light What a blessing to hear God’s Word on a daily basis at school. We are enjoying our A-Z Advent devotions. Today we did the letter P for possible and Q for quiet. Thank you, God, for making our salvation possible through your Son! Help us make quiet time this busy season to ponder the birth of our Savior.
Spelling Test is tomorrow! Study!
Check the homework chart for the words.
IE This week we have been 1) writing about winter activities 2) reading on Kids A-Z and
3) identifying word families with Ms.Koepsell. I am completing reading assessments, too, that will be included with your child’s report card in January.
First Grade Christmas Party and Gift Exchange We will have our party on December 21 at 10:30 AM, after the service. We will combine the first grade classes for this party. Your child should get a $5 gift to exchange. Girls buy for a girl and boys buy for a boy. Label the tag to say To: A girl From: (Jenna). Thank you! We will also play some games, do a craft and have some healthy snacks. Most of the student gifts to exchange are already here.
Gym The kids enjoyed stations yesterday. Single jump rope, long rope and scooters kept all 35 of us happy and healthy.
Spelling Bee We enjoyed attending the school spelling bee yesterday. The first graders were busy trying to write the words as they were spelled. Your child may have brought that paper home yesterday. Take a peek. Congrats to Jude’s cousin, Lacey K, for winning and Gracie’s brother, Bennet, for earning runner-up. MAX HARPER is the first grade spelling bee champ!
Preschool Christmas Play First grade went to the preschool Christmas play today. Check Seesaw for a few pictures. The “real” deal is tomorrow at 11:15.
