First Grade Weekly Note
September 26, 2019
Christ Light- We reviewed our story about Rebekah being found and given as a wife to Issac. The class enjoyed the images for the story found here. We rejoice that God chose us to be his dear children, brought us into his amazing family and surrounded us by his love.
Our hymn of the week is “Take the World But Give Me Jesus.”
Reading Street- Our theme this week was “What wild animals do we see in our neighborhood?” It ties in very well to science as we study animal groups and how God designed each. We are also writing realistic stories about an experience with a neighborhood critter.
Amazing Words (vocabulary)- survive, habitat, hatch, croak and chirp.
The spelling test is tomorrow. The words are on the homework chart. Please help your child learn a few challenge words if she/he already knows the basic list of 10. Today we wrote sentences using these words.
Science- We studied animal groups this week.
MAPS- First grade took and finished their two tests on Monday and Tuesday of this week. You will be given their reading and math scores when the whole school has completed them.
