The March calendar is on the back.
First Grade sings on March 14 at the 3:30 service. I have also scheduled to take our first grade choir on tour again at the Woodlands for Easter caroling on Tuesday, March 27 during their noon dinner time.
Next SPELLING TEST is Friday, March 9.
Memory words: coming, they, come, our, put
Pattern Words: call, tall, law, saw, crawl, dawn, yawn, fall, small
Challenge words (optional) See Homework chart next Monday.
Quilt Study I hope you are hearing a few things at home about our Quilt Book study. Wednesday I read “Sweet Clara and the Freedom Quilt” about a young black slave girl who sews a quilt to look like a map so people can escape to freedom in the north. Tuesday I read “The Quiltmaker’s Gift” about a seamstress who would not sell her quilts, but only give them to the poor. After a greedy king was denied a quilt, he changed his ways, gave away all his possessions and received a quilt. Today we voted on our favorite quilt book. Check Seesaw for the results.
Read Across America Day is tomorrow Friday, March 2! 3 parents have volunteered to come in and read. I will still take 1-2 more if you want to come in. We will do some Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss Art, too.
Coins We are beginning to count nickels in math. Your child brought home a ziploc tonight in the money pouch. Please be sure he/she has 10 pennies, 10 dimes, and ADD 10 nickels. Thanks. Return Friday or Monday.
