First Grade Weekly Note September 17, 2020 Christ Light- Today we discussed Jesus’ baptism and our baptism. We are so grateful that Jesus washed our sins away and gave us his righteousness. We are part of his family and he calls us his son or daughter! Please post a picture of your child’s baptism to Seesaw tonight. I will share them tomorrow. Memory Treasures: We are starting to recite these regularly on Tuesday and Thursday. Thanks for all your assistance at home. We want God’s word in our hearts! :) Book Orders were sent home on Monday. Order by tonight if you choose. My class code is GVM93 at the Scholastic website. Read-a-loud We enjoyed “Tippy, Tippy, Tippy Splash,” and “Muncha, Muncha, Muncha,” both books by Candace Fleming, about 3 rabbits who cause a lot of trouble for Mr. McGreely. Math Stations: 1) Card game- Garbage! 2) 100s Chart work 3) Pattern Block work and 4) Domino Math. Social Studies: We had a mini-unit this week on Careers/Jobs. Today we talked about service jobs. Active Threat Drill We did practice this today. 1) Hold- in place and 2) Active threat- barricade in class. Your children handled it very well. Talk about it tonight. Have a wonderful weekend! Thursday Homework: Math paper lesson 15. Study for the spelling test. Read a library book. Post a picture of your child's baptism to Seesaw.
