FIRST GRADE SINGS this Sunday during late service.  Meet in my room at 10:15.

Math Stations:  1) ipads Kids A-Z
2) Count coins (nickels, dimes, pennies)  Many kids are still confused with the name and value of dimes and nickels  I am using the real coins in this station.  Practice at home.  Show your child 3 nickels and 2 pennies.  Ask How much?  Show 4 dimes and a nickel?  1 dime, 1 nickel and 1 penny?  If your child seems to understand, add quarters!
3) Attributes of shapes.  How are they the same?  Different?  Board game style.
4) New magnetic gear set (from our class gift money) and geoboards.
5) Fact card work with a partner and flashcards.
I had Miss Becker make new math groups, too, so we work with different friends!

Fine Arts Fair  Next Friday night (4/7) our school will host our Fine Arts Fair at 6:15.  How are first graders involved?

  1. We will play handbells!  I hope most of my students can make it.
  2. All first graders will have two pieces of art work on display.  I have been saving two of my favorites from each week.  It will be a lovely collection!
  3. The class will have 3 Silent Auction Art items up for bid.  We made 2 today.  They are beautiful.  THANKS Angie Kramer for your time today!
