We had a wonderful Grandparents' Day.  So many grandparents came that along with the children we almost filled the church. It is our hope that all had a wonderful afternoon of fun and bonding. We hope to see many of those grandparents again next year.
     On Wednesday our Unit 1 spelling list will be sent home.  Spend time helping your child to learn to write the words correctly.  We will spend the next few weeks working with the words in class also.  The Unit 1 test will be given on Oct. 1.
     Many children have been bringing water bottles to school.  Since the weather is no longer so beastly hot and humid, these will be kept in the hallway unless there is a medical reason for your child to keep the water with him. We do use the drinking fountain after every recess.
     Each family received a note about our fall Faith Science Fair.  Any student who wishes to may enter a project.  Our class will also be working on a fun display.  I will keep you updated.

HOMEWORK FOR SEPTEMBER 16 - 20

MONDAY:
Christ Light - Read "God Promises Abraham a Son".  Review Proverbs 3:5.
Math - Lesson 17B (Please have your child use pencil unless he is asked to color.)

TUESDAY:
Be sure that your child reads and returns his Book Buddy by Monday.
Today we had a special art class with Mrs. Kemnitz. :0)

WEDNESDAY:
Christ Light - Read "God Answers Prayer".  Review Psalm 50:15.
Math - Lesson 18B
Reading - Be sure to save the Unit 1 spelling list and spend a bit of time each evening reviewing the words.

THURSDAY:
Reading - Practice pp.6 - 15 in Adventures of the Superkids reader.  Try partner reading with your child.  He reads a page...you read a page...he reads...you read...etc.  (If you have not put a cover on the book yet, please do so.)
Math - Lesson 19B

FRIDAY:
Christ Light - CW411 s.1 "What a Friend We Have in Jesus"
Math - A Wrap-Up was sent home with your child.  Help him to practice the first one.  Please return this to school on Monday.
