First Grade Weekly Note October 1, 2020 Christ Light- Today we enjoyed this video about our Bible story, Woman at the well. We discussed our thirst, physical and spiritual. Jesus is the Living Water to quench our parched, sin-filled hearts. May we drink daily from His Word and be refreshed by his springs that well up to eternal life. Read-a-loud We enjoyed “Over and Under the Pond” and “Jungle Drum.” . Math Stations: 1) Coordinate grid work 2) Create and Tell story problems with Mrs. W 3) Ladybug Game 4) Doubles Bingo (3+3, 4+4…) Science: We had a mini-unit this week on pond life. Peek at the booklet your child is bringing home today. Gym: We will do soccer a few more weeks as the weather allows. Grand Day! I will send home some completed cards and art projects tomorrow that we created for grandparents. Please give them or send them to our treasured grand parents. October calendar is on the back of this note. Thank you, God, for bringing us this far! Continue to bless our class, school and families. Faith First Grade Family Bike Ride Bring the family to the Festival Parking Lot on Saturday, October 17th at 10:00 AM. I would like to ride the bike trail together two miles north and then two miles back. I will arrange to have adults at the only two streets we cross (Ducharme Pkwy and Hwy K). All children must have bike helmets. Adult helmets are recommended. I hope this can be a fun, outdoor activity and a chance for you to get to know other 1st grade families. If the weather is crummy, let’s try again on Sunday, Oct 18th at 1:00 PM. Bring your own snacks and drinks.
