President's Day

Christ Light:  Read 13A  Taxes to Caesar    It was cute.  I asked "Do your parents give money to the government?"  Many children thought "No."  We had a discussion then about "taxes." Give to God what is God's (offering) and give to Cesaer (government) what is Cesaer's.  God provides us with police (two Dad's in class), firemen, parks, roads, traffic lights, libraries... through our taxes. 

Reading:  We read a few books about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln to celebrate President's Day.  Ask to see the pages we did and review the vocabulary.

Math: Today we reviewed Adding ten to a number by using pennies and dimes.  

Poetry:  Our new poems this week are about presidents and quilts.  We will get back to our quilt books tomorrow. 

Gym:  We did long rope skills in gym class today.
