Day #2!

I know we all felt more comfortable today.  It was fun to have a "normal day."  This is a great group of kids and I look forward to all the learning that will happen this year.

Christ Light:  Read 1A Gabriel Visits Zechariah and Mary.  God's promise of a Savior is coming true!

Superkids: We listened to our favorite songs and then got to work. Today we mainly reviewed the D, C, G, O, and A letters and sounds.  We also read basic words with those letters.

Math:  Lesson 2B is to be done at home.

Science: Today our topic was science TOOLS.  The kids loved using the balance to compare the weights of different school supplies!  Ask which was the heaviest. (Marker pack) and the lightest? Dry erase marker.  Also measured a glue stick and scissors.  We also used a hand lens to study small pictures and letters.  Finally, we measured with shoes and rulers.  We needed 6 of Jaiden's shoes to measure across the book shelf.  Ask your child how many of mine. (4).  Of course we use rulers, not shoes, to measure important things so the measure is the same for all.

Story Time:  I read Chrysanthemum by Kevin Henkes.  Ask about it.

Gym:  Mrs. Guell and I each took half the class to play 2 games of kickball outside.  Everyone had plenty of turns to kick, run, and field the ball.

Everyone took a new library book, too.  Happy reading tonight.
